Location, Location, Location!!
Location can be a personal choice depending on your preference & style! Some of my favourites include the beach & my ‘paddock’ type settings which are best done in Golden hour! If your not familiar with this term, it’s basically the hour before sunset. This changes year round, in summer we can sometimes start as late as 7.45pm, in winter can be as early as 4.30pm! I know these times aren’t always suitable with toddlers or young children, so this isn’t a strict rule, however it is the time we get the prettiest light so shoots done in these locations at different times will likely have a different look/feel!
Below you will find a few of my more popular location choices, however I’m always open to new ideas, so if you have something in mind please reach out to discuss!!
Beach
The beach is always a fave and never disappoints. The light can be harsh when there are no clouds so always suggest evening or early mornings here. Shoes not requires & wet feet encouraged! Some of my usual locations include Grange, Tennyson, Kargs & West Beach, but as always, also open to new suggestions!
Paddock/Field/Country look
Another favourite, especially in the warmer months! I have a few locations this look can be achieved, local to me (around Golden Grove/Wynn Vale) we are spoilt for choice! Again, best results as late in the day as possible for the warm, golden glow!
Other faves!
Lots of other gorgeous options also! Local parks & Botanic Gardens are always nice morning or afternoon if you prefer a ‘greener’ look. Port Adelaide is great for a more urban feel. In winter I’ve done some extended family sessions in pubs with gorgeous undercover beer gardens to avoid any bad weather, If you love your own home/garden this can also be amazing!
